Oncology Skincare
At Soulstice Skin Studio, oncology skincare is approached with compassion, education, and a deep respect for where you are in your treatment journey. As an oncology-trained esthetician, I provide gentle, customized skincare experiences designed to support the comfort and wellbeing of your skin while honoring the needs of your whole person.
Your skin deserves specialized care.
Oncology esthetics is specialized skincare designed to support the skin through cancer treatment, recovery, and survivorship. Treatments are thoughtfully adapted to address changes such as dryness, dehydration, sensitivity, irritation, and increased reactivity.
It’s not about pushing the skin harder.
It’s about listening to what your skin needs.
At Soulstice, every treatment is personalized around your current skin condition, treatment history, comfort level, and individual journey.
What is oncology skincare?
Why choose an oncology trained esthetician?
Cancer treatment can change your skin in ways that require a different approach to esthetic care. I received my oncology esthetics training through Oncology Spa Solutions, giving me specialized education in adapting products, techniques, pressure, and treatments to better support skin affected by treatment while knowing when certain services should be modified or avoided. At Soulstice, your care is personalized around you, your skin, and where you are in your journey.
What may be included in your oncology facial:
Each oncology facial is thoughtfully customized to your skin, treatment, and comfort level. Your service may include:
Gentle cleansing to refresh the skin without unnecessary irritation
Hydrating or soothing mask selected for your skin’s current needs
Gentle facial massage to encourage relaxation and comfort
Neck, shoulder & décolleté massage when appropriate
Scalp, hand & arm massage when appropriate
Kansa wand for a calming, grounding facial experience when appropriate
Gua Sha with modified techniques when appropriate
Cryotherapy for a cooling, soothing experience when appropriate
Sound therapy to create a deeply relaxing environment
Customized finishing skincare focused on hydration and barrier support
Every element is optional and thoughtfully selected based on where you are in your treatment journey. Your comfort and safety always come first.
The Skincare
For my oncology clients, I use O Skin Love MD, a professional skincare line created specifically for medically compromised, reactive, and treatment-affected skin.
I chose O Skin Love because oncology skincare requires more than simply using “gentle” products. The line was developed with the unique needs of compromised skin in mind, allowing me to provide intentional, supportive skincare while keeping the focus on the individual client and their current skin needs.
I believe the products used during your treatment should be just as thoughtful as the techniques used.
Please be prepared to share:
Your current cancer treatment
Recent surgeries or procedures
Medications that may affect your skin or treatment
Areas currently receiving radiation
Any active skin reactions
Any ports, PICC lines or other medical devices
Any concerns or restrictions provided by your medical team
And importantly:
When in doubt, communication with your oncology care team comes first.

Frequently Asked Questions
Still have questions? Take a look at the FAQ or reach out anytime. If you’re feeling ready, go ahead and book.
-
Sometimes, yes. Oncology esthetic services can be adapted during treatment, but the appropriate timing and techniques depend on your specific treatment, medication, skin condition and overall health.
-
No. Oncology esthetics can support clients during treatment, recovery, and survivorship. However, your service will always be customized to your current circumstances.
-
Not necessarily for every client or every service, but there may be situations where medical clearance is appropriate. If there is uncertainty about your treatment, skin condition, or medical restrictions, your oncology team should be consulted.
-
If you are currently undergoing chemotherapy, it is recommended waiting at least 14 days after your last chemotherapy treatment before receiving an oncology facial. This allows time for your body to move through the nadir period, when blood cell counts can be at their lowest and your risk of infection and other complications may be increased.
Because every treatment plan is different, I also recommend following any specific precautions or recommendations from your oncology care team.
-
Massage may be incorporated when appropriate, but pressure, positioning, duration, and areas treated may need to be modified based on your treatment and medical considerations.
-
Absolutely! You are welcome to share as much or as little as you’re comfortable sharing. I do need enough health information to safely customize your service, but your appointment is still your time and your space.
